J.C. Egnew, Chairman, President & Contracts Administrator
Mr. J.C. Egnew, a former NASA engineer, currently serves as Chairman and President of Outdoor Venture Corporation. Mr. Egnew, co-founder of Outdoor Venture, is a former Chairman of the Industrial Fabrics Association International, a current Director of the Industrial Fabrics Foundation, a current Director of the United States Industrial Fabrics Institute, (USIFI) and current Director and Chairman of the USIFI Tent Study Committee. J.C. Egnew is responsible for the startup of 4 manufacturing facilities and the creation of more than 1,000 jobs in this area.
In addition to his 25 years of experience of supplying tents to the Department of Defense, Mr. Egnew has also successfully started and operated manufacturing businesses in the automotive supply and consumer markets and understands the importance of customer satisfaction in highly competitive markets.
He was also instrumental in bringing a public library to McCreary County, spearheading a fund raising effort to expand a local branch of Somerset Community College in Stearns, KY, served as the first McCreary County Chamber of Commerce President and donated Outdoor Venture's first building to the McCreary Heritage Foundation which was restored and is used today as a Depot for the Big South Fork Scenic Railway in Stearns, KY. J.C. Egnew currently serves as director or officer for several local boards in the area.

Ray Moncrief, Director
Mr. Moncrief has held various positions within Kentucky Highlands Investment Corporation since 1984 and is currently Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. He is President and Chief Executive Officer of Mountain Ventures, Inc., a Small Business Investment Corporation (SBIC) licensed by the U. S. Small Business Administration and a wholly-owned subsidiary of Kentucky Highlands Investment Corporation. In these capacities, Mr. Moncrief is responsible for the investing activities of Kentucky Highlands and Mountain Ventures including analyzing new investments and portfolio management. He has served as Chief Executive Officer of five of Kentucky Highlands' investee companies and has been instrumental in providing financial and operational leadership in many turnaround and financial restructuring situations. Mr. Moncrief has in-depth experience in startup, expansion, and divestiture of businesses. He provides technical and management assistance to entrepreneurs during every phase of business development beginning with the creation of their business plans and the startup and capitalization through the expansion of their companies, and the eventual sale of their companies.
Mr. Moncrief also serves as President and a board member of Eclipse Management, LLC, the General Partner of Meritus Ventures, L.P. In addition, Mr. Moncrief is President and Chief Executive Officer and a board member of Southern Appalachian Management Company, LLC, the General Partner of the Southern Appalachian Fund, L.P., organized to make equity investments in small business enterprises as defined by the New Markets Venture Capital regulations of the U. S. Small Business Administration. Mr. Moncrief is a Manager of the Southern Appalachian Fund.
President George W. Bush appointed Mr. Moncrief to the Community Development Advisory Board. This national board advises the director of the Community Development Financial Institutions Fund on policies regarding activities and programs.
Mr. Moncrief is a founding director and is currently Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Community Development Venture Capital Alliance (CDVCA). CDVCA honored him with a special Lifetime Achievement Award in March, 2004. This award recognized his deep-rooted commitment to using venture capital tools as a means of creating lasting change in the lives of low income individuals and the economies of distressed communities. Mr. Moncrief is also a member of the board of directors of the New Markets Tax Credit Coalition and the Community Development Financial Institution Coalition.
Mr. Moncrief is an active Director on ten corporate Boards of Directors, and is a member of the Board of Governors of the National Association of Small Business Investment Companies (NASBIC) and is a past member of the Executive Committee of NASBIC. He is a founding board member of Southern Kentucky Economic Development Corporation. Mr. Moncrief has traveled nationally and internationally speaking about the use of equity investment as an economic development strategy. He has participated in several study groups analyzing capital needs in rural areas including an economic round table at the White House. Mr. Moncrief is often called upon to conduct training sessions at various conferences and meetings. Mr. Moncrief is a graduate of Leadership Kentucky and a 1972 graduate of Louisiana Tech University with a B.S. Degree in Accounting and completed graduate courses at Lamar University.
Stephen B. Duerk, Director
Mr. Stephen B. Duerk is a seasoned operations executive with broad management experience in strategic and tactical aspects of corporate operations and development.
Mr. Duerk has recently completed a 43 year career with a broad spectrum of responsibilities from sales to corporate President. He retired as President of International Textile Group's Automotive Safety Unit, which had 17 manufacturing locations in eight countries on four continents with 5500 employees. In this role he had total P&L and operational responsibilities. During his career the company changed hands six times and Steve successfully contributed to each organization.
Mr. Duerk received a degree in Textile Engineering from North Carolina State University and completed the Harvard Business School PMD program. He served as Chairman of the Industrial Fabric Association International, a 2100 member company association, founding Chairman of the United States Industrial Fabric Institute and founding Chairman of the Industrial Fabric Foundation.
He completed 20 years as a member of the Board Executive Committee of the Automotive Occupant Restraint Council. He served his country proudly during the Viet Nam war, earning twelve combat medallions including two silver stars.
Joe Fields, Business Development Manager
Joe Fields has 26 years of experience in manufacturing businesses including military tents, industrial base and automotive air bags. Mr. Fields currently serves on the United States Industrial Fabrics Institute committee, (USIFI), reviewing military tent fabric specifications.
In 1988 - 1992, as Vice President, Joe Fields played a key role in the startup and growth of an Outdoor Venture project which resulted in an automotive air bag manufacturing business. He played a key role in successfully growing this business to a $25 million dollar business.
Outdoor Venture's air bag manufacturing business, one of the first in the United States, employed 175 persons and produced 25,000 air bags per week before Outdoor Venture's stockholders' sold the business in 1992. Joe Fields spent several years as Director of Development with the air bag manufacturing business where he had one patent, three patent applications and five record inventions.

Debbie Bowman, Assistant Contracts Administrator
Debbie Bowman, Assistant Contracts Administrator, has been with Outdoor Venture Corporation since 1986, serving in various roles of progressively increasing responsibilities such as contracts administration, subcontract management, purchasing, inventory management and control, work flow, operations, EDI coordinator, cost accounting and system administration.
